These were written by Maureen from my Rent Forum. 1) Be orginial. - Make YOUR character unique...don't stick to the play/movie completely...put YOUR thoughts and emotions into a character. Don't try to be how others have played the role..make it your own- all great performers have done so, and it works just as well.
2)Detail, detail, detail! - This is a biggie, since there are some people who have an knack for posting a sentence...and that's it. If you don't have time to post a long detailed post/reply, don't do so at the time. Detail makes people happy.
3) Pay attention! - Read the posts throughly so you don't end up asking "What happened?!"
4) Follow how things go. - The way RPG posts are in third person, detailed (as much as possible), and are almost like a story.
5) People aren't mind readers. - WHat I mean is, if you have a whole plot in your head, and you post something and expect people to know what you're talking about..don't get mad if they don't. Oou...Just cause I feel like using a theatre word..Don't upstage people (no one has done so, I'm just saying for future refferance)..What upstaging is taking the light away from someone else when the moment is theirs...in otherwords, an attention getter.
Have fun!
